The Best Top 4 Fertility Products To Buy Of 2018

If any of you out there are like me then you know when searching for products to help with fertility can be exhausting, not only are there are so many products to choose from but how do you know when you have picked a good one! Well I am here to help! I am going to list 4 of the best (in my opinion) fertility products on the market for 2018 ranging from all your fertility needs to predicting your most fertile days and even ways to boost your partners sperm mobility!

Down Below are the 4 best Fertility products you should try out if your are trying to conceive!

Ovulation Test Strips: Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test

An ovulation Test works by measuring your LH surge (Luteinizing Hormone), which happens when a developing egg follicle reaches a certain size. This LH surge will then trigger ovulation (which normally happens 24 – 48 hours later) if you was to have unprotected sex during this time your chances to conceive will be much higher!

Most ovulation test will indicate you are fertile by producing two lines on the ovulation test, which should be about the same in color if you were to be fertile, but for some of us that can be just down right confusing especially if it’s your first time using one. That’s exactly why I love the Clearblue digital test, with the clearblue ovulation test instead of the two blues lines you will receive a smiley face on the test if you are in your ovulation window! When you take the test and you are not fertile (or not within your LH surge) the test will simply produce an empty circle!

How cool is that, it’s so simple to use for first timers or even for someone who has been trying numerous times! That’s why to me it’s the best thing on the market.

Lubricant For Conception: Pre-Seed

There are many lubricants on the market nowadays, but did you know that most of them can actually hinder the movement of sperm? My husband and I found Pre – Seed-seed one day while browsing on amazon, saw all the good reviews on it and decided to give it a shot and lets just say we loved it!

Pre – Seed-seed was actually invented by a female sperm physiologists and is used in a good deal of fertility clinics around the world! During my research I found that pre-seed actually mimics the cervical mucus during the fertile stage of your cycle! Many people raved about it online and stated it was the only thing that actually helped them conceive!

  • Target: $20.00
  • Amazon: $25.00

One A Day Men&Women;’s Pregnancy Pack

One A day Couples pack is A soft gel pill that helps the female as well as the male, both taken once a day, it’s the simple just once a day! The pill for the female (contains omega 3 fatty acid) helps with the development of the eyes and spinal cord for the baby as well as healthy brain activity! One A day for the male helps produce healthy sperm!

That’s it there is not much to this, it’s just basically all the vitamins and nutrients that both partners need in order for a healthy pregnancy!

  • Walmart: $30.00
  • Target: $25.00

The Wheel And Ovulation Calendar

The Ovulation wheel and calendar is by far my favorite to use, especially since my cycles are so irregular! This ovulation calendar is amazing as it allows for adjustment to any and all short, long or even irregular cycles. This calendar tracks dates for ovulation as well as your peak fertility, and the best thing about it is it even tells you when you should take a pregnancy test! Then once you conceive, it tracks milestones that baby and you have accomplished!

  • Amazon: $13.00
  • allheart.com: $8.00

Don’t Give Up!

There are many more useful products on the market now a days, but these are just a few of my favorite! Remember though if you or someone you know is struggling with fertility don’t get discouraged or feel like your a failure, seek help from a professional! There are always more than one option when it comes to conceiving! NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!

Infertility In Women

Infertility in women is more common than you would think, in the united states women 16-45 have a hard time either becoming pregnant or staying pregnant according to the CDC (Center For Disease Control And Prevention). Infertility is not only a problem women face, but also men as well. About one third of infertility cases reported in the United States are from women and another one third are from men. Then there is the rest of the cases reported in the US from a mixture of men and women with infertility problems or an underline unknown cause.

What Does Infertility Actually Mean?

Infertility means not being able to conceive after one year of trying, women who get pregnant but unable to stay pregnant may be infertile as well. Getting pregnant is not as easy as it sounds, women stress so much about the subject and automatically think they are a failure if they can’t conceive, but there is a lot involved in conceiving!
  • A woman must be able to ovulate ( the release of an egg from the ovaries)
  • The egg must be able to make its way through the Fallopian tubes to the uterus
  • The man’s sperm must meet with the egg (fertilization)
  • The fertilized egg must then attach itself to the uterus wall (implantation)

Infertility can happen if any of these steps are skipped or just does not happen!!

What Causes Infertility In Women?

The common most leading problem for infertility in women is the lack of ovulation! Without ovulation there are no eggs being released, which means there are no eggs to be fertilized. If you have an irregular or absent period there is a chance you could be infertile. There could also be a scenario like my friend, she has (PCOS) which is Polycstic Ovarian Syndrome, which is basically and imbalance in her hormones. PCOS is actually very common in female infertility!

There are also some uncommon reason for infertility that you don’t hear much about such as:

  • Blocked Fallopian tubes due to either endometriosis or surgery from a past ectopic pregnancy
  • There could be that you just have a physical problem with your uterus
  • Or uterine fibroid (found on WEBMD) which is NON-CANCEROUS clumps of tissue and muscle on the uterus walls

What Causes Infertility In Men?

Sometimes a man is born with issues that affect his sperm, other times there are issues that don’t happen till later on in his life such as: injuries, or illness. Movement can also affect the sperm in men, caused by the shape of the sperm, injuries or damage to the reproductive system which blocked the sperm.

How Can A Doctor Treat Infertility In Women/Men?

There are many ways that infertility can be treated whether it is by surgery, medicine, artificial insemination. In most cases infertility is treated with either medicine or surgery. Most doctors will recommend a specific treatment based on many things

  • The Test results of the couple
  • How long the couple has been trying to conceive
  • The age of the woman and man
  • The overall health of the couple
  • And the couple’s preference

Please note though that it is important that you talk with your doctor about the pros and cons of medicine and surgery. You should understand that there is in fact possible danger and side effects to any medicine or surgical procedure.

Need Help?

I am by know means a doctor or professional, you should always seek advice from a medical professional! These are just my research results and some known facts that I have read about over the years. If you need more information about infertility/doctors I will list some numbers down below that I found online that might help you out!

But of course you can always comment down below and I will give you my honest OPINION!

Getting Pregnant After Birth Control

Getting pregnant after being on a form of birth control can be scary (speaking from experience). There is always the thought of, what if I can’t conceive, or what if my birth control ruined my chances completely. Well I am here to give you a bit of information to hopefully help ease your mind a little.

Some of these things that I am going to talk to you about is some things my doctor told me, maybe it will help you out as it did me!

When Will My Fertility Return?

It is the question everyone wants to know, how soon can I conceive after birth control? At least it’s the first question I had for my doctor and his answer, well lets just say it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear.

Your chances for conception after birth control depends heavily on what type of contraception you were using. I was hoping it would be more like a switch. you want to conceive just get off the birth control and bam it’s baby making time, or your not in the position for a baby right now, OK fine turn the switch back on. Unfortunately that’s not how it works, First I am going to discuss the basic types of contraceptives and how it was explained to me, then ill fill you in on some questions I ask and some things that were told to me.

Different Types Of Birth Control

The chances of your fertility returning greatly depends on what type of contraceptives you were on.different types of birth control

  • Birth Control Pills (oral contraceptives) – Birth control pills’ contain estrogen and progestin (which I was on) it prevents ovulation and thickens cervical mucus. Usually after you stop taking the pill fertility returns anywhere between 1 to 3 months.
  • NuvaRing (Vaginal Ring) – My doctor said this was a fairly new type of contraceptive, but works the same way as the pills’ fertility with this usually comes back withing 1 to 3 months as well. Only difference is the Nuvaring is vaginal vs the pill being oral.
  • Implanon – (rod like material usually goes in the upper forearm) This contraceptive works by continually releasing hormones into your body, usually you see your doctor every 3 months to have it removed and replaced with another. Fertility usually returns after a month with this one.
  • IUD – This is a “T” shaped devices that’s implanted inside your uterus to prevent pregnancy, it works by repelling any sperm that comes into with the Fallopian tubes. The return of your fertility with this is about 1 to 2 months
  • Depo Shot – This works by slowing injecting a drug into the muscle, which will then slowly release, preventing ovulation as well as thickening cervical mucus.(my friend was on this was and lets just say it’s horrible) Fertility rate returning with the depo shot ranges from 6 to 12 months with 50% of women conceiving with 10 months of being off and the other 50% taking up to 18 months!

How Long Will It Take Me To Conceive After Birth Control?

Studies have shown that most women will get pregnant withing 6 to 8 months after stopping birth control, while others may have to seek other options.

Every woman’s body is different, what may be easy for one is a whole other ordeal for someone else. you feel like your contraception method made you infertile please seek professional help. AGAIN, I am not a professional by know means, I am just simply relaying the information that was giving to me by my health care profession.

Don’t Stress!

If you do see that you’re facing infertility please do not blame yourself, talk with your doctor. There are many options that you could try, and if all fails the option for adoption is always on the table, there is always a sweet baby out there that needs your love and affection!dont stress - adoption

Kristi 🙂

Let’s Talk All About Sperm

While we have been talking about pregnancy in the female body from my previous post, we have to remember that the male in your life has a lot to do with conception!

There are so many misconceptions with sperm/semen and its functions just like there is with the female reproductive system! Hopefully in this post I can clarify things up for you so you can get a better understanding about sperm/semen.

Sperm/Semen – Yes There Is A Difference

  • Sperm – coming from the Greek word (σπέρμα) meaning sperma (meaning seed) is typically what you think about when trying to conceive. Sperm looks like little tadpoles with tails, which helps them move through the cervix and into the Fallopian tubes which is where it waits for an egg to be fertilized. The average male will usually produce around 525 billion sperm cells over his lifetime and will shed around 1 billion of them per month! Usually a healthy adult male will ejaculateSperm meets the egg anywhere from 40 million to 1.2 billion sperms in a single ejaculation!
  • Semen – The male reproductive fluid, containing spermatozoa protects the sperm while it travels to the female cervix, without semen the sperm would not stand a chance at conception about 30 to 40 minutes after ejaculation the semen will gel up and exit the womans vagina, after that it’s up to the mans sperm to do the job.

Sperm In The Female Body

Although most sperm die immediately after ejaculation, once the sperm enters the woman’s cervix it can survive anywhere from 5 to 6 days. We have to keep in mind though, only a few sperm even make it that far, that’s why it is very important to have intercourse a number of times prior to ovulation.

Doing this gives plenty of time for the sperm to travel through the cervix and up the Fallopian tubes where it will wait for an egg to be released.

How Long Does It Take Sperm To Meet An Egg

Sperm has A long journey ahead of them that’s for sure! When the male ejaculates the 40 million to 1.2 billion sperms will start their journey through the cervix and up the Fallopian tubes, now not all will make it, but the ones that do will start swimming up stream to meet the egg and fertilize it.

Fast swimming sperm can meet up with an egg in about half an hour while some slow swimmers may take hours/days. Research shows that sperm usually meets the egg anywhere from 48 to 72 hours, But if a woman has a ripe egg at the edge of the Fallopian tubes (which can be there for 12 to 24 hours) the sperm may meet up with the egg sooner to start fertilization!

Does The Way You Lay After Intercourse Affect Your Odds To Conceive

Studies show that there is really no scientific evidence that laying on your back after intercourse increases the pregnancy odds! However, it is proven that standing up or going to the bathroom right after intercourse does cause gravity to pull sperm away from the cervix.

So with that being said I would recommend laying down from about 15 minutes after intercourse that a way it can give the sperm some extra time to get going in the right direction!

Now You Know

Now that you know a little more about sperm, hopefully you can learn to appreciate them. Silly I know, but can you even imagine how lonely this world would be without them?!? We just need to learn to appreciate them for the little swimmers that they are. After everything is said and do, they do turn into something beautiful!

Ways To Increase Your Chances Of Getting Pregnant – Soothe Stress

When it comes down to conceiving it can be scary and even stressful at times, trust me I know, but the important thing to remember is to stay calm and let your body figure it out! I know we have all heard it before “Just relax it will happen” or for the women out there already pregnant “stop worrying your

stressing the baby” is 100% true! Did you know that stress can cause you to miss your period? I know some of you are like well yeah of course, but there are some women out there that have no clue what stress can do to the body. Well I’m here to help you out! I’m going to share with you some main pointers that my doctor pointed out to me!

Importance Of Being Stress free

This goes back to the beginning, Stress! Stress can not only ruin your appetite, but mess with your conceive - dont stressemotions and your hormones. Some women stress out too much and it may cause the hormones in their body to go all out of wack which will than result in her body to not release an egg.

The body is so finicky when it comes to certain things, because I’m not only talking about negative stress there is also a such thing as positive stress as well. Negative stress would be from the loss of losing a loved one, or maybe even your job. Then there is positive stress which can be anything ranging from planning for a vacation or even your wedding. My friend once told me she skipped her cycle the month of her wedding and just knew she was pregnant, but come to find out it was just the stress and excited from her wedding that caused her to skip. Of course though this isn’t to say that every woman s body will act this way, ever women is different!

An all tell sign that stress is causing you to skip a cycle is by the discharge. You may notice around the time you usually ovulate discharge will form in a woman s underwear. Dry or sticky discharge would indicate that you are not ovulating whereas if its wet and watery ovulation is very close. A creamy discharge is a clear sign that ovulation is coming and it is only a matter of time, than there is the day of ovulation where the discharge is usually very wet, stretchy and resembles a raw egg (the whites of an egg). But if your body is stressed out your discharge may change, you may notice that one minute its wet and than it will come with dry patches. That’s your body telling you that you should probably stop a second and take a deep breath!

So with that being said stress can mess with a woman s cycles, but there still is a chance to conceive. I would start by charting your cervical fluids that way you know when ovulation is getting close!

Maintain A Healthy Body Weight

Maintaining a healthy body weight is crucial when trying to conceive, not only for the mother but for the growing fetus inside of her. Let’s look at me for instance, I am in my mid 20s and weight roughly about 215lb and have for majority of my life. My doctor told me that even though during pregnancy I could gain the normal amount of weight that other women do, the fact that I was small prior could affect me in the long run. This means that I have a higher chance of delivering to a preemie than women bigger than me, but what about the over weight women??

Over weight women during pregnancy have a higher risk of diabetes or high blood pressure. Let’s just say that not only is it tough while being pregnant its also very stressful all the factors you have to way in while trying to conceive. My doctor told me a great way to make sure you maintain a well-balanced diet while trying to conceive or even while pregnant is to make sure you get a good intake from your five major food groups: your grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy and proteins that along with some physical activity a day and you should be fine!

Stray From Alcohol/Tobacco

Now lets talk about alcohol and tobacco on the body. I used to be a heavy smoker and on the nights when I would drink I would smoke even more, but ever since my husband and I have been trying to conceive I cut alcohol out all together (side not: I’m officially tobacco free for over a year now:). On top of me being a relatively small women drinking alcohol would raise my chances of delivering premature not to mention miscarriage or fetal alcohol syndrome. Now this is not saying that drinking alcohol inhibits your chances of fertility that’s not what I’m saying, however I am saying that your lifestyles choices can. My doctor suggested to me as I am suggesting to you that cutting out alcohol, tobacco or any unnecessary drug from your lifestyle can greatly increase your chances of conception.

This goes for men too, I’m not the only one to cut tobacco and alcohol out of my daily life my husband did as well! My doctor told me that it can impact a man just as much as it can a women! So basically I’m saying this if you live a happy, healthy life style your chances of conception should be fairly easy!

Make Sure You Get A Good Intake Of Vitamins And Minerals

OK I’m about to wrap this up but to end this on the high note I wanted to stress to all of you, just how my doctor did to me on how important it is to get the proper intake off all your vitamins and minerals. For starters both you and your partner should be getting his/her fair share of zinc, but my doctor stressed to me a lot is not always a good thing that too much zinc can lead to copper absorption.

Then there is folic acid, which I take every day! Folic acid can help greatly before, during and after pregnancy, its great for both men and women. My doctor recommended taking folic acid at least a month before trying to conceive, folic acid can reduce the chances of your baby getting a neural tube defect as well as help raise the sperm count in men!

Getting a good source of iron, calcium and vitamin b6 is also something I would consider when trying to conceive, the bottom line is if you are taking a good prenatal or for both you and your partner a good multi-vitamin you should be fine usually a multi-vitamin has all the vitamins and minerals that you need in one sitting!

All About Timing (Baby Making Break)

The bottom line I know you do not want to hear this, but it will happen when it happens. Take a much-needed “baby break” if you have to and sit back relax and enjoy the little things in life that’s what I had to learn to do!

I am a firm believer in “everything happens for a reason” and that if I just stop stressing the matter it will eventually happen! And as my husband says taking test after test with negative results is just “jinxing” us (laugh out loud, ) so I decided to let go and see where it takes us! You would be surprised how different your body feels without all that extra weighed stress on it!

About Kristi

Hello everyone my name is Kristi and I just wanted to start off by saying welcome to my site!! Being a Wife for a little over a year now I know the struggles of trying to conceive. This website is going to be a platform for all women who have questions, comments or concerns about conceiving

I know there are plenty of apps out there in the world where women can go to for all this information, but I want to create a platform where women can come and be comfortable to ask any and everything they want to, a no judgment zone almost like a little family!! WE WILL BE HERE TO HELP!!

My Story

I grew up in a pretty small family with only one sibling, I always dreamed about what it would be like to grow up and have a family of my own one day, well here I am 26 years old, married to a wonderful man and we have two adorable little fur babies named Halo and Molly. Life is amazing there is just one little problem trying to conceive has been a you what for us!!

My husband and I met back in 2015 and as sappy as it sounds it was love at first sight, we dated for a little over 3 years and then in 2017 we got married and life has been amazing ever since! Shortly before we got married we discussed that it would be amazing if we could have a honeymoon baby, so the honeymoon came and past and we just knew we were pregnant! I had all the signs: sore breast, nausea in the mornings, fatigue, you name it I had it.

I remember the day we took our first at home pregnancy test we were both extremely excited because like I said we just knew we were expecting! We took the test and it came back negative and of course y’all know how that made us feel, I was so devastated! My husband reassured me that, “it was fine babe we will keep trying it’s only our first test we will keep trying”!

So from that day forward I really started tracking my ovulation and tried to narrow down my ovulation window. I went on amazon and purchased a few ovulation sticks and pregnancy test as well as some prenatals . Once we tracked my ovulation window we did what some people call “baby dancing” where you and your partner have sex every day of your ovulation window (this is especially a good idea if your partner has a low sperm count hence the age etc.). This was usually three days leading up to my ovulation, the day of my ovulation, and the day after. We did that for about a consisted 2 months and test after test still no luck!

So TRUST ME when I say I know how frustrating it can be. My mother and mother-in-law tell me I’m rushing it, but my husband and I are more than ready to start our little family. We are not going to give up though anything can be overcome and we are not going to give up until we have our little bundle of joy!

That’s Why I Want To Help You!

That’s why I wanted to create this website! I know how frustrating it can be to conceive, test after test and all you get are negatives! After a while it starts to consume you and if you let it, it will make you depressed, which is not good if you’re trying to conceive you want your body to be as relaxed, healthy and stress free as possible. I’ve been there and at times I wished there was a platform like this where I could go to just talk to someone who maybe has a couple of kids, or someone who has a baby on the way, or someone like me who is trying to conceive and its like no matter what you do nothing seems to work!

The Goal For My Site

My goal for this site is to have a judgment free zone. I want you to feel comfortable to come here and post anything you want whether it is questions about your ovulation window or maybe something crazy is going on with your body at that particular moment and you think there is a possibility you could be pregnant send us some pics and we will give you our best advice and opinion! I want us to grow together and watch each other as we find out we’re pregnant, go through labor and even send pics of those beautiful babies once they arrive into this world! Bottom line I want to Help You! I want you to know your not alone, your not the only one struggling! We are here for YOU!!

So once again WELCOME TO THE BABY MAKING COMMUNITY!! Feel free to leave any questions below and I will be more than happy to help you out and if not by me hopefully by one of the women in our baby making community!

With A Little Sprinkle Of Baby Dust,

Kristi
